HORSEBACK RIDING EL PLOMO BASE CAMP

DESCRIPTION

The first day we started our trip leaving from Santiago to the sector of Farellones. At that point our muleteer will be waiting with the horses and mules necessary to take us and move all the camping equipment, meals and our personal belongings. A safety chat will be held to have a safe trip without accidents. Then we started our ride to the base of El Plomo hill, the most important mountain in the central valley and possible to see from Santiago because with its 5.500 meters, its great glacier catches the attention of anyone. First stop, after 1 hour of horseback riding, lagoon of Piuquenes. After 2 hours we will have our second stop in the sector ofPiedra Numerada, here we will rest, we will share a lunch and we will enjoy the view of the Cepo valley. Then we continue for another 2.5 hours until we reach the base of El Plomo hill, 4.100 meters above sea level. Here we will set up camp next to the federation refuge, a small mountain refuge. At night we will have a dinner under the stars, anecdotes and stories will be shared together with the guides and muleteers. The next day is the possibility of a walk to the sector of La Hoya, under the glacier the pendant. Then we will have a box lunch, we will disarm camp and we will start our return to the place of departure.
